Differences between PTFE and PVDF

Time : 2023-06-27 Hits : 1

Ptfe is polytetrafluoroethylene, pvdf is polyvinylidene fluoride.

1. Solvent resistance, different acid and alkali resistance The use temperature of PTFE is - 20~260 ℃, which can withstand strong acids and alkalis, and various organic solvents. Because of its hydrophobicity, it can be used to filter steam and various corrosive liquids.

PVDF has the characteristics of fluorine resin and general resin, and has good chemical resistance, high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, weather resistance and radiation resistance. In addition, it also has special properties, such as piezoelectricity, dielectric property and thermoelectricity.

2. Different uses

In industrial applications, except that CMC+SBR are used for water, PTFE is basically not used; PVDF is used for oiliness.

3. Different chemical reactions

PVDF is used in the low potential test area of negative electrode materials. PTFE can only be used at high potential
