When buyers request an FMS filter bag or FMS filter sock quotation, the price depends on more than diameter and length. Working temperature, dust condition, snap ring design, surface treatment and installation details all affect the correct material choice. A clear RFQ helps the supplier recommend a stable baghouse filter bag and avoid wrong samples, wrong collars or poor installation fit.
FMS filter bags are commonly selected for high temperature dust collection. Before quotation, confirm the normal working temperature and short peak temperature. If the gas temperature is close to the material limit, the filter bag may need a different fiber blend, surface finish or protective treatment. Temperature information is especially important for cement plants, steel plants, boilers, asphalt mixing, drying systems and waste treatment processes.
The basic size should include bag diameter, bag length and quantity. For example, a quotation request may describe the bag as 120 mm diameter and 4000 mm length. The measuring method should be consistent with the actual baghouse design. If an old bag is available, measure the flat width, circumference, total length, bottom type and top fixing method. Photos are also useful.
Many dust collector filter bags use a snap band or snap ring at the top. The snap ring width, thickness, felt overlap, groove fit and sealing requirement should match the tube sheet. A small difference may cause leakage or installation problems. When possible, send a close-up photo of the old snap ring and tube sheet hole.
FMS filter media may use fiberglass and high temperature fiber blends, with different finishes according to dust type and emission requirement. Common quotation questions include whether the bag needs PTFE membrane, PTFE impregnation, oil and water repellent treatment, anti-static performance or special sewing thread. The best option depends on temperature, moisture, acid or alkali condition and dust abrasiveness.
For better recommendation, provide the dust collector model, cleaning method, air volume, dust concentration and application industry. Pulse jet baghouses and reverse air systems may require different bag construction. If cages are used, cage diameter and vertical wire condition should also be checked. A damaged cage can shorten the life of a new filter bag.
